So proud of you, and thanks for practicing over the holidays!
Description:
Light your “Christmas Candle” each time you practice over the holiday break,
(beginning December 20th and ending January 2nd). Be sure to blow-out the
candle at the end of each practice session! Students with the shortest
candles will win tons of extra honor points which go toward a possible
studio trophy (and, ofcourse, a special treat for the “grand prize”!)
Rules: Make sure the candle burns ONLY while you are practicing. (Playing carols or other pieces for relatives or friends can count, too). For safety measures: find a suitable candle stick holder and place in a safe, stable place AWAY from the piano. Younger students should have parents or an older guardian/sibling light and oversee the candle. Bring your candle with you if you go out of town! You never know if you'll get a chance to play -- OR, time yourself if away from your home piano/candle and then light it later for the same amount of time.
Do not place candles on piano or any valuable piece of furniture. (Careful, too, when you blow out the candle so that the wax doesn’t blow into piano/furniture/carpet etc.)
If you burn your candle all the way down, (until it’s too short to burn safely), please feel free to get additional candles as needed.
Bring your candle(s) back to your 1st lesson in January (Wednesday-Friday, January 3-5) or to the Sunday, January 7th Musicale.
